3 Ways to Improve Lawn Health

  1. Water Longer: during summer months longer watering times are better to allow water to soak deep in the soil and allow deeper root growth. We recommend setting your timer for 4-5 days a week, 25-30 minutes per station between 5am and 7am.

  2. Mow on a higher setting: Mowing under 3.5 inches (standard mower height) will make most California lawn variants susceptible to disease and drought. Ab taller lawn will be more resilient in all areas and it will out compete weeds in your lawn to give you a beautiful weedless lawn.

  3. Skip clippings bagging: doing this more often will allow the mulched lawn to re-fertilize your lawn and to keep your lawn mower bag from stealing necessary nutrients that will help keep soil conditions ideal for growth and health. If you want your lawn to look cleaner for an event simply bag that one time and then go back to mulching your clippings.
